Los objetos de estudio que se tomaron para llevar a cabo nuestro trabajo fueron la obra de José Eustasio Rivera La vorágine, publicada en 1924, y sus dos traducciones al inglés. La primera hecha por Earle K. James (1935) para G.P. Putman’s Sons en su versión reimpresa por Panamericana Editorial en 2001, y la segunda elaborada por John Charles Chasteen (2018)* y publicada por Duke University Press*, ambas bajo el nombre de The Vortex. La vorágine “tuvo tanto alcance que entre 1930 y 1935 fue traducida al alemán, al checo, al ruso y al francés, entre muchos otros. (Página: 15)
